Description
SLPs are increasingly involved in the care of patients with head and neck cancer. While preventative dysphagia services are accepted as standard of care, many clinicians don't have the background in this population to determine how to best evaluate and treat patients prior to radiation. This webinar covers what clinicians need to know to provide prehabilitative care—from justification to assessment to treatment to working within the multidisciplinary cancer care team.

Information
Heather Starmer, MA, CCC-SLP,
BCS-S, is a clinical Associate
Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at
Stanford University and the Director of Head and Neck Speech and Swallowing
Rehabilitation at the Stanford Cancer Center. She is a board-certified
specialist in swallowing and swallowing disorders and specializes in clinical
care and research involving functional outcomes following head and neck cancer.
She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Liverpool.
