Written for SLPs and teachers working in grades 3–5, this book follows-up on the popular RTI in Action: Oral Language Activities for K–2 Classrooms.
An increasing number of school districts in the United States have adopted a Response to Intervention (RTI) model to provide support to general education students within the classroom. The majority of states also have adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) to guide instruction and prepare students for college and careers. This book incorporates information and activities within the Common Core State Standards, which ensure students are college and career ready. The content can be translated to any other standards that have a similar focus.
In this book, tiered activities are designed so that the RTI model may be used as a framework for implementing the CCSS. Organized by grades 3, 4, and 5, over 200 classroom-based tiered activities have been developed that correspond to all of the English Language Arts standards that address the four domain areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language.
